A poorly built, dark, neo-Edwardian spec home was transformed into a light-filled modern home in Cole Valley. The intensive storage needs of the family were used as the inspiration for a system of custom millwork that serves as both spatial divider and storage. Facades were opened up with expansive glazing to capture panoramic views, while a new stair element and two-story skylit entry hall provide a light filled core to the house. A consistent material palette, sculptural forms, and generous skylighting give this home a congruous, unified feel.
