Joachym Joab

JOACHYM JOAB | JUNIOR DESIGNER

Joachym was born and raised on the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago. From a young age, he was exposed to the transformative nature of architecture and design, as both his father and grandfather were deeply involved in the built environment—the former being an architect. He studied architecture at the Savannah College of Art and Design before completing his master’s degree at Columbia University.

While at Columbia, Joachym completed two apprenticeships at Adjaye Associates. These experiences, combined with his natural curiosity, deepened his appreciation for how buildings convey and carry stories—especially how homes can hold the memories of generations of families. Wanting to bring this narrative quality to high-end residential design, Joachym joined jmA in 2023 after graduating.

In his free time, Joachym enjoys exploring San Francisco and doing anything related to football (soccer)
