Kelton Dissel

KELTON DISSEL | PRINCIPAL & STUDIO DIRECTOR

Kelton, a licensed architect, joined jmA in 2006. In his 20-year career, he has worked on a variety of projects that include: a LEED Platinum certified house in Russian Hill, an AIA honor award-winning low-income housing project in SOMA (Plaza Apartments), and an historic Stanford University dormitory remodel (Toyon Hall) which received an AIA merit award. Kelton grew up in the Bay Area and moved to Montana where he received his Bachelor and Master's of Architecture from Montana State University. Additionally, he attended the Prince of Wales Summer School for the Building Arts on a full scholarship.

Kelton enjoys his time as an acting adjunct professor of architecture since 2012 at the Academy of Art University. As a studio coordinator he forms curriculum for the first year studios in addition to teaching design studio 2: Spatial Ordering and Form. Kelton lives with his wife and dog (aka spoiled child) in San Francisco and spends many weekends in Marin, mountain biking, hiking and other yuppie-like pursuits.
