Shwan Zuhdi

SHWAN ZUHDI | ASSOCIATE PROJECT MANAGER

Shwan, a Bay Area native, joined the jmA team in 2017. His experience spans all phases of a project, from concept through construction. At every phase, Shwan aims to preserve the design narrative by reinforcing clarity and simplicity within each architectural gesture. His work centers on site-sensitive designs that are uniquely tailored to each client’s program and lifestyle—Shwan has developed custom homes in vastly different climates, and of varying scale and complexity.

Shwan aspires to create thoughtful design solutions which serve to explain a site’s physical, historical, and cultural qualities and features. He finds architecture most compelling as a multi-sensory experience that expresses a stewardship towards the place it resides in.

Shwan received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arizona in 2016, where he was the recipient of the Richard A. Eribes and Al Burlini Scholarships, along with two AIA Southern Arizona Design Excellence Awards for his studio work. A resident of San Francisco, Shwan spends his weekends rooting for the local Bay Area sports teams, frequenting jazz clubs, and exploring the city by foot (usually in pursuit of a new coffee shop).
